This guitar not only has an artful aesthetic, it is a fine musical instrument as well. It possesses a wide dynamic range. It has a big full sound when strummed, yet a soft delicate sound when played finger style. It has a great feel in your hand and plays like butter. It is a very versatile instrument that can be used to play just about any genre or musical style.

This Freja model is the most balanced guitar that I’ve ever played. Bass response is gorgeous. If Obsidian had a sound, this would be it. The general expressiveness of the top is nothing short of superb. You can do Bluegrass strumming, and go right to subtle fingerpicking without losing clarity or richness. Exceptional value in this guitar.

I’ve had one of these for over a year or so. When you have some nice guitars by major manufacturers, and you go down and bring up this guitar every other week just to hear it, and see where it will take you, you really have to pause and think……How come a small maker in West Virginia managed to figure out how to get this thing made in a purpose-built guitar factory in Korea, with this quality, design and price point…..I play other guitars for different reasons, but THIS is the one that I play for my soul.
